Good News for IPL Indian Premier League Cricket Lovers. Today, Indian Premier League IPL Chairman Mr. Lait Modi informed reporters that Indian Premier League IPL is on now. Last week, after the attack on Sri Lankan players in Lahore, Pakistan, the Indian Home Minister Mr. P. Chidambaran informed a Private News Channel NDTV reported Miss Barkha Dutt that due to election on the same month in APril and May it will be dificult to arrange the security specially the paramilitary forces. Indian Premier League (IPL) chief Mr. Lalit Modi told in the Mumbai Wankhede Stadium that they have sent the revised schedule to the Indian Government and they have approved it. Now, there will be no match on the election and polling result day.
Mr Lalit Modi, who is also the Indian cricket board vice-president, informed that earlier it was 44 days long series but now it is shortened to 30 days only.
It was also humor that Mr, P. Chidambaran forced IPL authorities to postpone the series but he totally declined it. and added that I did not say ever it should be postponed. He told that he is not blaming IPL authorities and IPL management because whey they had fixed the dates much earlier before the election date announced. Meanwhile, Mr. Lalit Modi and his men are working on a rescheduling the fixtures of IPL 2009. The IPL will be running from April 10th-May 24th and The general elections of Indian elections are scheduled to be held April 16th to May 13th, while poll counting will be on May 16th 2009. Mr. P. Chidambaram also showed his satisfaction that it was fortunate for Indian cricket team that they did not tour Pakistan and he also condemned this attack on Sri Lankan cricketer in Pakistan on 3rd March 2009.

It is still not very clear whether IPL 2009 will go ahead. With the polls clashing with the dates and all the international players critical about the security, it is going to get tough.
