Muralitharan to retire Test cricket in 2010

World most wicket taker in Test cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan has informed in the media that he is going to retire from Test match cricket next year in 2010. Next year, west Indies is coming Sri Lanka to play Test match series and after the series he will retire from Test cricket and this particular series will be playes in his nation Sri Lanka. He informed this shocking news after the end of the first One Day International (ODI) against Pakistan.

Legend bowler Muralitharan aka Murali also told that he is not going to play cricket for a long time now and he is planning to retire after the home series against West Indies and in the series that will be his last 2 Test match. He believes that that it's the correct time for him to retire from Test cricket because he will be 38 years of old ny next year. Muralitharan main aim is to play 2011 World Cup and he is hoping to bring the World cup 2011 in his country. Though, Sri Lanka has already won the ODI Cricket World in 1996 beating Australia in the Final at Lahore Pakistan. But the good thing is that Mutthaya Muralitharan has no play to quit for 20-20 (T20) cricket now and he wants to play T20 cricket and IPL for few more years. Though, Murali is planningg to quit Test Cricket but he still thinks that The hardest game format in the cricket is only Tests. A cricket is only fully judged by his good performance in Test Cricket. The hardest part or most interesting part in Test cricket is that you have to take 20 wickets to win and sometimes cricketers have to spend more than two days on the field. He believes that before entering the cricket field, every cricketers have to be mentally prepared for every individual game / cricket match. In the format of Twenty20 cricket, bowlers tries to contain the batsmen and then batsmen tries some big shots in the air and gets out and the same thing happend in the format of fifty-over cricket too. But in Test cricket, you have to read the batsmen both menatlly and physically and set the fields properly and get the wickets.

Sri Lankan star bowler Muralitharan has put a lot of effort for last few months to be fit in the cricket so he can deliver his best. He has trained very hard with the physio Tommy and trainers Jade and Mario and they all have helped Muralitharan to face and fight with the difficult period. Whenever Murali gets free time then he enjoying relaxing. He has a knee injure and that made him out of the series against Pakistan. He added that he has always been asked about the chances of reaching 1000 test wickets but Murali thinks that for that he had to play regular Test match and these days Test matches are played very few.
