One of the most talented and stylist left handed former cricketer Vinod Kambli told that the national selectors never felt right to inform him why he was unceremoniously not selected in the Indian cricket team & lamented the trend and he feels the same behavior still continues. The left-hander batsman from Mumbai team said he was frequently dropped from Indian Cricket team that eroded his morale. Not only that, he also felt even more frustrated with the fact that he was never told a single time why he was dropped from the team. He still feel that the reason should be given to players why he is being dropped from the team so he can work on that.
Vinod Ganpat Kambli returned in the Indian criecket team after the 1996 World Cup but he was again dropped from the side. Vinod Kambli also expressed that he could have done much more better job if he been asked to continue with at his favorite slot of number three. It's also true that Vinod Kambli was not given the chance to play at number three slot which was his right place in the batting order. Batting at the position of number three was his place but he was always asked to bat at the position of number six or sometimes at number seven and Indian cricket selectors still used to expect from Vinod Kambli to score century. Vinod Kambli cried in the semi final match which was played at historic Ground of Eden Garden, Kolkata because the match was not fully finished. The Kolkata crowd (Indian supported) started throwing fires and papers in the Eden Garden cricket ground then the feels that he did reasonably well after his debut in the Indian cricket team but was dropped before the most important series of Australia tour. Vinod Ganpat Kambli returned in the Indian team after the Wills 1996 umpires and match referee decided to stop the match by D/ L (Duck word Louis ) method.
He also told that none of the Indian selectors did not ever told me what was going wrong with me. He also admits that he had problems playing against short-pitch balls but selectors never brought things. Vinod Kambli is still known for his stylish batting. He is now called as Flamm boy because he use to go for the parties, taking part in the comedy serials.
Vinod Kambli has scored 1084 runs in his just 17 Tests he played under India cap. Vinod Kambli also played for India in 104 ODI (50 overs) before the premature end to his career. At that time of period, 20-20 T20 cricket was not played and T20 cricket was also not officially approved by ICC (International Cricket Council).
He is now happy and satisfied with the present cricket selectors because the situation are much more improved nowadays and players from all parts of India get chance to play in their own slots. He say that that is the reason they have been performing so well.
Though, just few days back Vinod Kambli was in the headlines when he told in TV serial called "Sach Ka Saamna" that sachin could have been done much more for him but he didn't. When he was asked the same question then he denied that he has not made such a comment at the TV serial show "Sach ka Saamna". Vinof Kambli says that the World best batsman Sachin Tendulkar is still his best friend and the friendship will stand for ever. He also added that there is no problem in their relationships and they still meet happily and do long conversation over phone but he thinks that there are few who is trying break the relation between them. Vinod Kambli warned those people and told that they would not succeed ever.
